Do you remember the navy seal talking about the power of making your bed in the morning?
It’s become a classic example of the simple daily act for self-empowerment.
Discipline is a skill that you can strengthen like a muscle. You can train yourself to focus on a goal and reject distractions.
The magic potion to getting things done from start to finish, to being productive is willpower.

Why is it important to be disciplined?
It’s not about liking or not liking to do something, but about having a clear picture of the end goal, and the determination to conquer it.
Can you suspend pleasure in the moment for success in the future?
Discipline will help you reach your goals. It can help you get far. Even further than you’ve imagined.
Completing a task, finishing a project boosts self-confidence.
It will lead you to see the big picture as well, and that is always beneficial.
How can you be more disciplined?
Set realistic goals.
Visualize your goal and you reaching it.
Commit to what needs to be done, break things down to manageable tasks, and work towards your target diligently every day.
It may sound strange but being grateful for the opportunity to work on yourself while working towards your goal is the miracle ingredient in the process.
Be your own best cheerleader, and carefully choose friends, family members who can hold you accountable.
Self-delay? Resistance? Or full-blown self-sabotage?
Deeper than deep issues might surface in connection with you trying (or not trying) to be disciplined.
Distractions and temptations, the productivity killers:
Do you need to designate an area to work on your project?
Can you get yourself in the right mindset?
Is your environment clean, comfortable, inspiring?
Can you focus without any noise from other people/electronics/loud phone notifications…? (You may need headphones, or even soundproofing.)
Procrastination, the subtle saboteur:
20% of people procrastinate, unable to manage their frustration, fear, insecurity, self-doubt or other negative emotion about a task. It can become detrimental to mental and physical health.
There are tricks to manage these emotions:
-Making sure your goal is realistic and meaningful; visualizing reaching it.
-Planning. By writing things down you recognize the logical order of steps and stay on track.
-Being super clever about avoiding distractions.
-Setting deadlines. (Remaining flexible is crucial, as not everything will go the way you’ve planned. Stay cool-calm-collected.)
-Not aspiring to be a perfectionist!
-Rewarding yourself regularly.
-Keeping in touch with your tribe, the people who support you all the way.

What is it about after all?
Discipline is NOT about torturing yourself, but helping you see evidence of how strong, capable, and successful you are.
And how much you can learn about yourself, see aspects of you that were unknown to you before.
Every time, an exciting journey within the Journey.
Most gratifying.
Most liberating.
Most inspiring.
