“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”
–Leo Tolstoy

Listen to your soul talking to you

Have you ever stood in the face of adversity shouting inside (or even out loud): “Why is this happening to me? I haven’t signed up for this!” In fact, this adversity could be one way your soul is trying to have a say: you could be experiencing the big cosmic redirection. You could have a dream or a persistent thought, visions or voices. External signs, synchronicities, messages, messengers could warn you or point you in a certain direction. You could even experience certain physical symptoms. All or any of these are happening to make you listen to that inner voice, the one that is true to your soul. Exercise your intuition as it were a muscle and rely on it. Learn what signals you get in your body for “Yes” and “No”, and follow their guidance.

Stop and be grateful

Stop. Stop all activity and movement. Quiet your mind and focus. Ask yourself what is going on in your life. What is it in itself? Without all the frills and drama, that may be created by others around you or by your own emotional overwhelm. Be excited that your time has come to manifest your dreams, to build a present and a future for yourself that is your choice, your passion. Don’t resist: kicking and screaming will make things more difficult for you. Know when to stop pedaling and hand it over to the universe. Embracing change means embracing life. Be grateful for changes because they’ve dragged you out of autopilot mode! Have moments of gratitude all through your day and notice what wonders these moments do for raising your vibration. Look for the end of the tunnel, the silver lining, the rainbow.

To infuse your Knowledge, Personal Growth area with Feng Shui: Use the colors black, blue and/or green. To strengthen the element of Earth you could have decorative square tiles, for example.

Look beyond

Besides pondering on big questions like “What do I want from life?”, notice the moments of light, the small miracles. It’s helpful to learn to manage your feelings to be able to see things in perspective.

Increase your resilience

Your ability to spring back into shape, your toughness, your flexibility is crucial after going through a health concern, a tragedy, a natural disaster, a work problem, …etc.

Don’t give in to chaos

According to several psychology studies, it is stressful for our brain to deal with disorganized environments. We can become scattered, unable to act, even ill. Clutter is debilitating physically, mentally, emotionally. You want to be in a functional space that supports you in living a healthy life that flows freely and abundantly. So free yourself from the junk and the mess that is holding you back: declutter and organize. It is of utmost importance to keep your environment organized to support you in times of overwhelm. Find the right system for you when it comes to your clothes, files, books, …etc. You know what works for you. And go to the next level with space clearing (smudge with sage, for example, to break down old, stuck, negative energies). Physically and energetically release the old that is hindering you. If you must write it down on a piece of paper and burn it to see as it becomes smoke and ashes, then go ahead and do it.

Simplify and balance

Make time daily for what matters to you. Less is more, don’t overwhelm yourself. Look for what is valuable and meaningful to you. Your daily routine should be manageable. Be strict with yourself about the daily practices that help you achieve balance. Living your calling (I don’t want to call it life-work balance…), meditation (or you may just want to refer to it as quieting the mind), healthy diet, sleeping enough, being in nature, finding the form(s) of exercise that bring(s) you joy, cultivating friendships, relationships, being passionate about your causes, listening to high vibrational music, limiting the use of electronics. Nurture yourself in every way possible. This way you will be able to nurture others the right way.

To infuse your Health and Balance area with Feng Shui: You can put a piece of artwork here that reminds you of being balanced and in touch with yourself. You can use yellow and earth tones and square shapes.

Communicate

Share what’s on your mind and listen, learn from other people. Collect inspirational stories and quotes that can raise your spirits when the going gets tough.

To infuse your Communication, Creativity area with Feng Shui: You can place an oval/circular metal object. Or a brass gong even, that you can sound to help you get centered for meditation/visualization.

Have a support system

It is vital to have the right people around when dealing with hardships. Cultivate your relationships. Getting support and giving support to others make strong networks. Always consider other people’s feelings and motives.

To infuse your Helpful People area with Feng Shui: You may introduce white/grey/black objects, round/oval/dome shapes, metal objects; gemstones.

To infuse your Family area with Feng Shui: You can strengthen the Wood element by bringing in a green color, rectangular, columnar shape. An example would be a stripy or floral tapestry.

To infuse your Relationships area with Feng Shui: The colors are red, pink, white. Square/cube shapes, ceramic objects can add the right punch here.

See your talents from a different angle

See your strengths to change what you can, rely on your wisdom to accept what you cannot: this is the base for true resilience. Bring your dormant talents to the light. Your friends, the supportive people in your life can help you with brainstorming. They can bring that necessary another point of view, so you can become aware of and acknowledge those hidden potentials of yours. A real self-confidence booster! These can be qualities that could mean the base you build the next phase of your life on. Having perspective and not identifying with the problem is crucial here. Put a creative spin on your skills, start developing them and using them. Be mindful of your choices. Move towards your goals step-by-step. Practice stepping out of your comfort zone daily. Follow your own lead. Take charge of your own development. How do you see yourself in 3/6 months/ a year/ 5 years/ 10 years from now? Have short-term and long-term goals as well.

To infuse your Career area with Feng Shui: You may want to apply black/midnight blue and wavy/undulating shapes to strengthen the Water element. Glass or crystal objects can be placed here.

To infuse your Wealth area with Feng Shui: For the Wood element real plants can be one of the best choices. Purple/red/blue/green colored objects, rectangular, columnar shapes can boost the energy here.

To infuse your Reputation area with Feng Shui: Shapes, colors, objects that represent the Fire element, so triangles/pyramids, red and light fixtures are the perfect cure.

An extra tip: Make sure that in your home your bed and desk are in the Commanding Position, and that’s the position you take when cooking at your stove.

Visualize

Make sure that the images that you want for yourself are clear in your mind, so you can attract the right vibrational matches in every way. Let yourself step out of your comfort zone big time!

Feng Shui tip: Do you want to bring your visualizations to life? Make a vision board: it will constantly remind your subconscious what you are working towards and what you want to achieve in life and will help you focus on what really matters. Especially for you. Visualization prepares your body for action.

Start brainstorming

Have at least 10 creative ideas a day. Relax- be open- observe. Try meditating in a way when you are receptive to your every thought and sensation. Dive into the flow, let the here and now envelop you and let your sense of self go. Silence the inner critic. Listening to upbeat classical music, looking at color blue, drinking tea, immersing yourself in nature: these are all scientifically proven ways to promote creativity. Getting your creative juices flowing will get you out of a rut.

Action already!

“Five, four, three, two, one! Action! “Your fear will melt away immediately, you won’t be frozen, unable to act anymore. Do something every day that leads to your goal(s), even if you see it as a small step. Be kind to yourself, at the end of the day acknowledge how well you did. You can even write it down. Continuously keep working on becoming the best version of yourself.

Find your sense of purpose

Having your personal astrology chart done and insights from numerology can help you. Think about the moments when you felt being in the flow and the happiest in your life. These moments are clues to finding how to live your soul’s purpose.

Watch self-talk

Are you talking down on yourself? Stuffing your head with negative self-reflection? Or are you your own best support, your tireless cheerleader? Are you busy wallowing in self-pity? Or can you notice those moments of light, every day little miracles that we are constantly being showered with by the universe?

“There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
–Albert Einstein
