Who says that the New Year has to start in January? Whether you are returning to the office or starting a new school semester after summer vacation, you probably have this zing, excitement or at least anticipation of the new that is coming. So why not boost your productivity and laser-focus on achieving your goals now?
Be clear
Know what you want in different areas of your life and focus on these goals. Write them down. Create a vision board with pictures and images.
Check your workspace
Is it helping or hindering you? Is it organized or disorganized, cluttered? Several psychology studies have proved that it is stressful for our brain to deal with disorganized, cluttered environments. As if we were trapped- unable to think and move. We cannot function properly. Having to listen to negative self-talk about not being able to achieve, to get it and keep it together.
A brain that is stressed out and overloaded in such an environment has to multitask. Contrary to popular belief, multitasking leads to less or even no productivity.
You can turn things around with determination, effort and clear intentions.
Plan ahead
Set up rules for yourself.
As you are moving forward, see if your expectations are realistic or not.
Do not feel bad if you have to modify your plan. It is all good as you are moving forward.
Start small
Begin with one shelf or one drawer that feels most urgent or bothers you the most. If decluttering needs to be done, do that first. Be consistent and ruthless. Decide.
Finish the unfinished. Repair the broken. Give away what you don’t need. By getting rid of clutter, you invite more energy, vitality, growth, so more health and happiness into your life.
Go back to the list of things that you want to achieve and look at your vision board. See clearly and vividly, feel with emotion and be in the knowing that you are already on the path to success. Use affirmations.
Treat yourself visually
After the decluttering process you have to see what goes where. You are the one who knows what needs to be at hand and what can be filed away. Again, ask for help if you need it.
With today’s storage solutions, there are countless possibilities for setting up filing/storing systems that are practical and visually pleasing as well.
Surround yourself with objects that are not only useful for you, but make you feel inspired and happy.
Put yourself in the Power Position
Do not sit with your back to the door, but face it- without being in direct line with it. You want to be aware of what is coming at you at all times.
Have the best lights and the best ergonomic chair possible.
Infuse the space energetically
Applying colors of the Five Elements or the Rainbow colors, as well as displaying certain shapes are powerful ways to bring balance to your space. The art and science of Feng Shui can help you with choosing these.
Accelerate your progress
Organize your home environment as well.
Give yourself the priceless gift of enjoying an organized space that is functional, serving your goals, your desires, your dreams. Where You are the one in control. Make your clear-intention-filled, organized space work for You.
The sun is in Virgo: you have the planetary help now. Focus on detail is more possible.
Reward yourself.
And be prepared: you may as well be ready to tackle issues in your life that have been swept under the rug for too long.
